Should I cut off contact with Deadbeat and his family also?

I have a 3 year old and most of her life her father has went for months ignoring her then pop up later on with excuses. I let him back into her life this year, gave him chances my daughter knows who he is. We can barely get along then he has been working and does not give me any kind of financial help for her. No calls or contact either with her again. I recently went to his family house because they dont even see how shes doing either they listened and apologized and now they called recently this weekend. I havent answered yet because I feel they only called because I went to their house and said something. I dont know what to say. What should I do? I want to just wash my hands of the situation. Leave all the phonies alone. I want my daughter to have her father but if he really cared he would call or look for her. I need the child support but I wonder if its even worth it why should I make someone care that doesnt care. He is acting immature and selfish he hates me. What else can i do
