Regular customer?

I was a regular customer at a cafe where I would have a coffee or lunch 2/3 times per week. When I first started going there I was not acknowledged until the staff noticed I was there regulary. We started up a friendly, general chit chat but a particular staff member started making snide remarks about me being there. Things like..."You're here again!" but looking like she had a cat turd under her nose. This made me angry and uncomfortable and I chose not to go there anymore but if they see me in town they look at me as if I have a problem. I was never rude to the staff ever, always paid and pushed my chair in and didn't act like a difficult customer. What gives??
