My Usb mouse keeps failing?

I've tried using other usb but the same thing happens. Removing the mouse and reconnecting it sometimes works but it fails again a few minutes after. After a while of reconnecting A message comes up saying " Windows cannot regconise Device" And says the device has malefuctioned and windows cannot recognise it. I've tried other mice but nothing works. Ideas on hwo to fix the problem?
