Enviro Professionals... Anyone out there in Corp America?

I work at a fortune 50 company with a very good environmental record. However, it could be so much better. We waste so much and I cannot even influence them to stop using styrofoam in the cafeterias. I even suggested to use a tampon that our company manufactures in the bathroom b/c there is less waste ociated with it, and the idea was shot down b/c some women might feel funny using a tampon with no applicator! I guess my question is, how do we influence a culture that is so used to disposable everything and could not give a rat's *ss about saving the environment or helping anyone less fortunate? When I do my schpill in new hire training about consuming less, ppl laugh b/c they want their stupid hummer and whatever the American Dream is these days. Any thoughts?
